Legal
This privacy policy explains how Nicola Harrington ("I", "me") collects, uses and protects personal information in connection with this website and the services I provide.
I am the data controller for any personal data processed in connection with this site. I am based in the United Kingdom and comply with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
If you have any questions about how I handle your data, or wish to exercise your rights, please email [email protected].
This website does not use contact forms, sign-up processes or analytics software. The only personal information I receive is what you choose to send me directly by email.
When you email me, I may receive:
I do not collect any information automatically through this website, with the exception of what is described in the Google Fonts section below.
When you contact me by email, I process your information to:
The legal basis for this processing is legitimate interests (responding to a direct enquiry you have initiated) and, where a service contract is agreed, contract performance.
I will not use your email address to send you marketing messages unless you have specifically asked me to, and you can ask me to stop at any time.
I retain email correspondence for as long as it is relevant to our working relationship or enquiry. If no service is agreed, I will generally delete correspondence within 12 months. Where a contract exists, I keep records for six years after the contract ends, in line with standard UK practice for business records.
You can ask me to delete your information at any time and I will do so unless I have a legal reason to retain it.
This website loads fonts from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com). When your browser requests these fonts, Google's servers may log your IP address and browser information. This is a standard technical process and no font data is stored by me.
Google's handling of this data is governed by Google's Privacy Policy. If you prefer not to have your IP address sent to Google, you can disable web fonts in your browser settings — the site will display using system fonts instead.
I do not sell, rent or share your personal information with any third parties for marketing purposes. I do not use any advertising platforms, social media pixels or tracking tools on this website.
I may share information where required by law, for example in response to a valid legal request.
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:
To exercise any of these rights, please email [email protected]. I will respond within one calendar month.
If you are unhappy with how I have handled your data, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's data protection regulator.
I may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date at the top. If you have any questions about a change, please get in touch.
